Teixeira Swinging Fire

Not that they really needed it after the season they were already having, but the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have had huge offensive support from Mark Teixeira, a last minute trade made back on July 29th. Teixeira, who spent four and a half seasons with the Rangers, then about a full year with the Braves, has been on an incredible hot streak since joining the Angels. Since getting his wings, Teixeira has played in 23 games, batting .386 with seven homers and 20 RBIs. To the fans' delight, 5 of the 7 homers have been at Angel Stadium. Teixeira, always humble, states that he's just trying to do his small part. His teammates and manager, on the other hand, feel that he has had a huge impact on opposing teams. Starting pitcher Jon Garland states, "He makes everybody [on the Angels team] better." Teixeira hopes his hot streak can continue throughout the rest of the season/postseason.
