Hunter's Theory of Time

The Angels have the best road record in all of the MLB (40-25) and are the only team with a winning road record in the American League. Their secret? Being on the Pacific time zone. At least, that's the reason posited by 6'2" outfielder Torii Hunter. While some suggest that the Angels have an extreme mental toughness, he believes that their "earlier" time zone helps keep them awake for later games on the east coast. "When we go on the road, we're on that time change," Hunter said. "So we're wide awake, and they're winding down. So we do have a little more life." Something that may be extremely obvious when an East coast team comes to Angels Stadium for a late night match. While it may be 10 or 11 at the latest for an Angels game to end, it would feel hours later to the East coast team and would be less alert than the Angels. Makes sense. It will need further testing, however, according to the scientific method. Tonight against the Tigers, the theory will again be put to the test in a 7:00 CDT game in Detroit. It will only be mid afternoon for the Angels at that point.
