Seattle Mariners Gear Up for 2009

Ken Griffey Jr. has returned to his old home team after 8 years away, playing in Cincinnati and Chicago. He may not be the hitter he once was, but he will still give the Mariners a good hitter while playing either in the outfield or the DH spot. Seattle also has retained Ichiro Suzuki who can still give you many homeruns each year.Jose Lopez and Raul Ibanez have also been consistent at the plate recently. Felix Hernandez is one of the best pitchers in the league, throwing in the number 1 spot in the starting rotation. The other spots in the rotation aren’t as good, but if they stay healthy, they could certainly hold their own against most teams. Adrian Beltre at the 3B position has an impressive glove and will probably bat about .270; he will probably be placed in the 4th spot in the lineup, and be on many Seattle highlight reels this year. This team is poised to improve over last year, and they be working hard to attempt to unseat the Angels in their division.
