Tampa Bay Rays News | ||
Sword of Damocles Above Tampa BayTampa Bay has been sitting atop of the AL East division for quite some time now...months even. All that could change in the next ten days. Tonight the Rays begin their 10-day road trip that has them travelling to Toronto, Boston, then New York for 3-game series with each, getting a one-day break on the 11th. It's nine games within their own division. Wins are a must and losses will be devastating since Boston has been applying increasing pressure during the closing weeks of regular season baseball, hoping to steal the divisional title away from the Rays. The Rays are coming off a win against the New York Yankees, despite losing the series overall 2-1. They will hope to regain some momentum in tonight's first-game matchup with the Blue Jays, and then carry that momentum into the crucial series with the Red Sox. Then, you can bet that they'll want to settle the score with the Yankees. Tonight, Rays pitcher Andy Sonnanstine will pitch opposite Roy Halladay at 7:07 EDT in Toronto. |
