March Madness Tickets let you Experience the Postseason ExcitementAnyone who has ever had NCAA tournament tickets (or even March Madness tickets) will tell you the same thing: There’s nothing that can possibly compare to the excitement of postseason college basketball. The noise, the crazy fans, the spectacular plays, the lights, the intensity, the national exposure, basically the entire atmosphere… the whole tournament is a feast for the senses. However, perhaps the greatest facet of the tournament is that no team, regardless of how good they are, is guaranteed a spot in the championship game. It’s something that must be earned. This utter feeling of instability drives the entire tournament because any team can win on any given day. For example, North Carolina is more often than not the favorite team to take the championship. However, even if they’ve gone undefeated in the season and are expected to win the National Championship, that pesky number 16 team needs to only beat them one time in the first round and out goes UNC. No one, not even the greatest pundits, can accurately predict what will happen because nearly anything can happen. And since there are 65 total teams that can vie for the title, the NCAA tournament is the fairest playoff system not only in college, but in any sport period. Despite the rampant complaints about the BCS system in NCAA football, college basketball gives the most amount of teams an equal chance at being the year’s best. All a team needs to do is play solid basketball for 6 games (7 if you’re one of the play-in teams), and suddenly, the greatest underdog becomes the year’s top story. So, as the 2009 NCAA tournament schedule takes it concrete form, don’t count out the underdogs and bracket busters. They’re the ones who really make the tournament interesting. |
