The team has never missed the Stanley Cup Playoffs since Claude Julien was brought on as head coach before the 2007-08 season, a streak that the team is looking to continue with its strong play during this strike-shortened season. After winning the Stanley Cup in 2011, Julien has proven that he has what it takes to get his players to peak at the right time when the postseason rolls around.
In order to etch their names into Lord Stanley’s Cup again in 2013, the Bruins will have to first advance through a challenging Eastern Conference. Though the Bruins, like most of the league, have not had great success against the two top teams in the east—the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Montreal Canadiens—their games against the two teams have been close—not a single game has been decided by more than one goal. However, the Bruins have been incredibly successful against some of their potential first-round opponents, including a 3-1 record against both the New Jersey Islanders and the Toronto Maple Leafs, and an undefeated 4-0 record against Northeast Division-rivals the Ottawa Senators. With only a few games remaining in the season, the Bruins still have a chance to clinch home ice for their first-round series, which would be a huge advantage considering the team’s play at TD Garden thus far during the regular season has earned them one of the best home records in the NHL. See the team battle for another Stanley Cup this postseason with Bruins playoff tickets from Vivid Seats.
