The tireless, sure-fire Hall of Fame goalie Martin Brodeur helped the New Jersey Devils play their way to the Stanley Cup Finals last season, but they came up short in six games against the Los Angeles Kings. This season, the 40-year-old fully plans on making it back to the Finals, with different results, despite the Devils losing Captain Zach Parise to the Minnesota Wild in the offseason. The trek begins for New Jersey as they travel to play the New York Islanders on Saturday, January 19th at 7:00 PM. It will be the first of a host of tough games on the 2013 New Jersey Devils schedule in this condensed, 48-game, post-lockout season. Standout left winger Ilya Kovalchuk scored 37 goals and recorded 46 assists in 77 games played last season.
The Devils open up play at the Prudential Center on Jan. 22nd against the Philadelphia Flyers, and fans can look forward to some early marquee games against Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals on Jan. 25th; a tough road game against Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins on Feb 2nd; and a date with the newly-enhanced New York Rangers on Feb. 5th. Later in the season the Devils go head to head with the Florida Panthers on March 23rd in a rematch of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals that went seven games last year. Make sure to get your hands on New Jersey Devils tickets to get a live look in as they make another run at the Stanley Cup.
