Penguins 2007 Midseason Update

The Pittsburgh Penguins finished the previous season only fifth in Atlantic with disappointing 22-46-14. They did not qualify for the playoffs. Presently, the team’s home is Pittsburgh. However, from the following 2007-2008 season, the team will most likely relocate to another city. If it does, the rumored destinations include Portland, Houston, and Kansas City. At the beginning of January 2007, Mario Lemieux and the Penguins ownership group had a meeting with Kansas City officials as well as the representatives of the Sprint Center. They were taking decision about moving the Penguins to Kansas City, as it officially made an offer to the club. The team is expected to decide about accepting the Kansas City offer within a month of the visit, this choice will decide their future in Pittsburgh.
