The Reno-Tahoe Open is a well-known golf tournament that is held on the PGA Tour. It takes place every year in August in Reno (Nevada State). The event is held at the famous Montrêux Golf and Country Club.

He spent about 5 years kayaking, climbing rocks and snowboarding when he lived out of a van in Montana. Actually, a glimpse on television of his adolescence idol, Payne Stewart, who managed to win the U.S. Open in 1999 inflamed his affection for the game. All this influenced his decision to play professionally. William Ruggles MacKenzie turned pro in 2000, and 6 years later won the Reno-Tahoe Open.
