The United States and Canada will both enjoy home-court advantages in the 2013 Davis Cup Quarterfinals, which are taking place at various sites from April 5-7. The U.S. is set to take on Serbia at Taco Bell Arena in Boise, Idaho, and it will mark the first meeting between the teams since Serbia defeated the Americans in the first round back in 2010. This is the 34th time a U.S. state has hosted a Davis Cup match, but the first time it will be in Idaho, with Boise State’s beautiful arena equipped to host nearly 12,000 fans for an enjoyable day of hard-court action.
Up north, Canada will face Italy at the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre in Vancouver, B.C. The Canadians upset five-time champion, Spain, at the hard-court venue in February, and will look to continue the momentum this April. The other two Davis Cup quarterfinals matches will pit Argentina against France at the clay courts of Parque Roca in Buenos Aires, while Kazakhstan will face the Czech Republic at the National Tennis Centre in Astana, Kazakhstan. This will be the fifth time Argentina and France have met in the Davis Cup, with France undefeated thus far. The Czechs are the defending Davis Cup champions, having defeated Spain, 3-2, last year. However, Kazakhstan topped the Czech Republic, 3-2, when they met in 2011. Don’t miss out on the matches with a purchase of Davis Cup tickets in stock now.
