A Bronx Tale News

A Bronx Tale Background Information

Set in the New York City Bronx in the 1960’s, A Bronx Tale is a coming of age story of Calogero Anello who finds himself between his working class family values and his new life of organized crime. It is a one-man show written and performed by Chazz Palminteri.
The play originally inspired Robert DeNiro to make his directorial debut to make the film version. The play premiered in Los Angeles in the 1990’s to high critical acclaim. Due to the success, Chad Palminteri moved the show to New York City for its four-month (and very successful) off-Broadway run. In 2007, the show was revived on Broadway and premiered at the Walter Kerr Theatre under the direction of four time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks. The show is currently on tour and coming to a city near you!
