About 42nd Street

42nd street has quite a history with Broadway. It originally opened in 1980 and was then closed down by 1989. Broadway tickets became available again when this play was revived in 2001. Ironically enough, it opened on 42nd Street in New York City and was seen at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts. Once it opened back up, 42nd Street won Tony Awards for best Actress in a Musical, (Christine Ebersole), and best Musical Revival. 42nd Street closed it's doors again in January 2005, but dont doubt a third time around for this exciting musical.
