About Miss Saigon
Come get Miss Saigon tickets and see the romantic and beautiful tale based upon the opera Madame
Butterfly. This ethnic filled production was originally released onto Broadway Theatre in 1991. It
was so successful and received enough praise to last 4,092 performances before it closed in January
of 2001. The composer and creator, Claude-Michel Schoenberg, got the idea for this lovely story for
a photo that he discovered in a magazine article. The photo of a child and mother being separated
at a Vietnam gate just so the child could have a better life in America was what Claude considered
the Ultimate Sacrifice.

Claude managed to alter the original opera and make Miss Saigon have more of a pop feel. The
story is considered a tragedy that takes place in Saigon at the treacherous period of the Vietnam
war. It involves the fascinating dilemma of a young Asian women dealing with extreme heartache
after her Caucasian lover leaves her. This heart-wrenching story gives a better look into the
horrible methods young girls faced during the communist rule in Saigon. With scenes including
helicopters and the famous evacuation off the Embassy of the last Americans in Saigon gives the
stage setting an extremely creative look and is made very technically complex.
Miss Saigon opened up their newest tour across the United States, among many other countries, in
2004, but this tour has since ended. Miss Saigon won three Tony awards in 1991 including Best
performance by a Leading Actor and Actress in a Musical. This tear-jerking theater production is
one that you cant miss. Miss Saigon tickets are sure to be available again soon, so grab your
friends or partners and make sure to witness how powerful love can be.
