Al Green

Albert Greene was born on 13 April 1946 in Forest City of Arkansas. He is also recognized as Al Green, a soul music vocalist and American gospel, who also enjoyed fame in near beginning and mid of 1970s. Son of sharecropper, at the age of nine, Albert Greene began to perform in a city of Forrest quartet known as Greene Brothers; after years he dropped the letter ?e? from his surname as an independent performer. They explored extensively in South in mid 1950s until Greenes shifted to Michigan, Grand Rapids, while they started traveling around in Michigan. Al was caught listening to Jackie Wilson and so he was kicked off the group by his father.

Green created a group known as Al Greene and Creations at high school. 2 members of Creations, Palmer James and Curtis Rogers created an independent tag known as Hot Line Music Journal. In the year 1967, with the fresh name as Al Greene and Soul Mates, the group recorded the ?BackUp Train? as well as released it on Hot Line Music and the song was R and B top hit in charts.

In 1967, Al Greene?s appearance of LP as his debut was unconfined on Hot Line known as ?BackUp Train?. The album was buoyant and touching but did not do any great in sales. Green published a book in 2000 ?Take me to the River?, conferring his career. In 2002 Green was given a Grammy award for Lifetime Achievement. Around 2003, non-religious album named ?I Can?t Stop? was released by Green and ?Everything?s OK? was issued by him in 2005 March.
