Barry Manilow "Living the Dream"

Barry Manilow is an American singer and songwriter whose career achievements include more than 75 million records having been sold worldwide.  Manilow dominated the 1970s soft rock scene with a string of top ten hits and multi-platinum albums. Some say, that Barry’s star time has already gone – in fact, he made most of his career achievements in the late 70-s, early 80-s. For example, in 1978, five of Manilow’s albums were on the best-selling charts simultaneously, which was only typical for Frank Sinatra and Johny Mathis at that time. Barry Manilow’s Billboard hit singles and multi-platinum albums allowed him to be recognized as Radio & Records number one Adult Contemporary artist and to win the American Music Award for Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist for three (!) years.

Manilow's solo hits include Mandy (1974), Looks Like We Made It (1976), Copacabana (At The Copa) (1978), I Write The Songs (1975), Let's Hang On (1981), Turn The Radio Up (2001), and They Dance! (2001).

Such legends as Frank Sinatra and Bob Dylan approved of Manilow’s creative work. In 1988, Barry was praised by Bob Dylan, who asked him at a party not to stop what he was doing. Having many talents other than perfect vocal, Manilow has also written songs for musicals and movies, and arranged albums for other artists, including Better Midler, and Rosemary Clooney.

Barry Manilow is a repeated holder of many music awards, including legendary Emmy reward, which he received for the last time in 2006 for Outstanding Individual Performance In A Variety Or Music Program.
