2013 Dixie Chicks Shows Potentially Their Last
With the announcement that lead singer Natalie Maines is set to go solo later this year upon the release of her debut album, “Mother,” which is due out May 7th, there may not be too many more Dixie Chicks concerts in the near future. The girls have been on a quasi-hiatus from touring for about five years, but thankfully they are set to perform at least three more times this summer. Their schedule has them performing at the Cavendish Beach Music Festival in Cavendish, Canada, on July 7th; after that, they’ll light up the stage at the 101st Calgary Stampede at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, on July 12. The final show on tap will take place at the Craven County Jamboree in Saskatchewan, Canada on July 13th. Tickets for all three shows are on sale now.
Considering that the Texas darlings stand as the United States' all-time top-selling all-female group, having sold more than 30 million albums worldwide, their potential end is certainly a big deal. Throughout their run, they’ve claimed 13 Grammy Awards and more than two-dozen country music awards from various associations. It’s safe to say that Martie Maguire, Emily Robison, and Natalie Maines will go down in country music history. But before they hang it up, make sure to claim your 2013 Dixie Chicks tickets today and be there to see them do what they do best live on stage one more time.
