About Govt Mule

Government Mule was made up of Warren Haynes, Allen Woody, and Matt Abts.
The group was formed when, after adding Warren Haynes and Allen Woody to their band for their reunion, the Allman Brothers decided they weren’t going to release any more new material. In 1998, Dose, their first legit album was released. In 2000 they released Life Before Insanity and that became their breakthrough album. After Allen Woody passed away that year the band went on tour called “Smile at Half Mast” in homage to Woody.  more
