In case a movie or series becomes a success, the inevitable happens. There are always people claiming that this lucrative idea was theirs all along. The same happened to “Hannah Montana”. Last weekend a lawsuit was filed against the Walt Disney Company. A comedy writer maintains that it was him who came up with the idea for this show in the year 2001, but he used a different series title. A well-known comedy writer, Taylor "Buddy" Sheffield is suing for alleged breach of contract, as well as violation of confidence, unjust enrichment and unfair competition. He is the author of a show called Rock and Roland that tells the story of a middle school girl with a secret alter-ego as a rock star.
As for Hannah Montana soundtrack of Miley Cyrus, it has enjoyed a big sales week recently. This happened after an episode of her show for children aired straight after High School Musical 2. Miley Cyrus’ Hannah Montana 2 managed to jump up from 4 to 2 on the new Billboard album chart. And even though this soundtrack didn't smash records like its TV counterpart did, it became the leader of the national sales chart. Actually, the album sold about 615,000 copies in its first week after appearing in stores.
