Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jackson Browne is best known for his songwriting and versatile music styles, but for his upcoming performances, he will be taking on a softer edge with a U.S. acoustic tour. Browne first got his start writing songs for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in 1966, and since then, has been a go-to songwriter for other artists, all while producing his own music.

Browne’s spring and summer 2013 tour starts on May 2 at the Tower Amphitheater in Austin, Texas, with famed trop-rocker, Jimmy Buffett. Browne will make a few more stops with Buffett before embarking on an acoustic tour with Sara Watkins. The duo will be hitting big cities like The Red Butte Garden in Salt Lake City, Utah (June 19), the Borgata in Atlantic City, N.J. (July 5-6) and the Steel Bridge Festival in Sturgeon Bay, Wis. (July 19), though they also will be hitting more discreet towns like Telluride, Colo. (June 23) and Lenox, Mass. (July 4). Browne will join back up with Buffett to close out his tour at Comerica Park in Detroit on July 20. Before Browne’s tour kicks into high gear, he’ll be re-visiting a place he’s very familiar with—the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Already a member, Browne will be taking the stage alongside Creedence Clearwater Revival’s John Fogerty on April 18. Several inductees will be performing as well, including Heart, Rush, Public Enemy and Randy Newman.
