The Scorpions Rock You Like A...
This German heavy metal rock band was formed in 1965 but didn’t receive any real attention until 1974 with their second album Fly To The Rainbow due to numerous line-up changes and disorganization within the band. The band remained a success in Japan but received criticism and attention from other countries for their controversial album covers such as 1976’s Virgin Killer, which features a naked pre-teenage girl with broken glass around her lower region or 1979’s highly sexual Lovedrive (also considered to be the pinnacle album of their career). In 1984 The Scorpions released the album that shot them off to superstardom- Love At First Sting, which contained the single “Rock You Like A Hurricane”, and went double platinum in the United States. Like many of their other album covers, this one also needed to be replaced with an alternate due to the fact that many stores refused to carry the images. The Scorpions have released a total of 21 studio albums, a ridiculous amount of compilation albums and have had 34 chart singles around the world. The band currently contains five members and has 19 former members. They currently tour and Scorpion tickets are known to sell out fast to large arenas.
