The Who Tour Adds Two North American Legs for 2015

50th Anniversary Plans in the Works for The Who

Like the Rolling Stones and Beach Boys before them, The Who also plans to embark on a major world tour to celebrate its 50th anniversary. While the milestone will be reached in 2014, North American fans will have to wait until 2015 to get a live look at the band for a trek that according to founding guitarist, Pete Townshend, will likely be The Who’s last. In an interview with Townshend in Oct. 2013, he cited increasing health issues amongst band members as the main reason for the group’s move toward retirement.

Plenty of details still need to be ironed out, but as of April 2014, The Who plans to launch the tour overseas around the end of December and will then make it back stateside in the ensuing months. Additionally, Townshend told Billboard that there also is a possibility that a new album may be released as well, which would be the first for The Who since 2006’s “Endless Wire.” Individually in 2014, Townshend dropped a remixed version of his popular track, “Let My Love Open the Door,” while bandmate Roger Daltrey released a joint album with Wilko Johnson entitled “Going Back Home.”

The Who Set to Wrap Up North American Leg of Quadrophenia Tour

Launched back in 2012 and now continuing into 2013, the North American portion of the highly successful Quadrophenia Tour will soon conclude for The Who, who will then head overseas in June for the tour’s European leg. Fans can take advantage of a handful of remaining dates in the U.S. and Canada throughout February, including two nights at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas (2/8, 2/10), the Pepsi Center in Denver (2/12), Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario (2/19), and Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City (2/22), just to name a few. The Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, R.I., will host the grand finale on the Feb. 26, though the band will play one more U.S. date at the Theatre at Madison Square Garden in New York on Feb. 28 as part of the Who Cares Benefit for Teen Cancer America and Memorial Sloan-Kettering.

The Who tickets are on sale now from the Vivid Seats marketplace, and be sure to check back later in the year as more The Who tour dates may be revealed down the road.

The Who Ticket Information

One of the most influential bands in modern rock history, The Who effectively changed the course of modern music with its range of celebrated studio and live recordings. The Who’s debut album, “My Generation,” was released in 1965, and the band soon after began to build a devoted international following thanks to high-energy live shows and a catalog of increasingly complex albums, including classic rock staples like 1969’s “Tommy” and 1973’s “Quadrophenia.” Today, led by Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend, The Who brings its characteristic energy to stages around the world, continuing its legacy with performances of its most beloved songs, including the timeless anthems “Baba O’Riley” and “Won’t Get Fooled Again.” See these legends, routinely considered one of the best live acts of all time, with an order of The Who tickets from Vivid Seats.
