Tool Hard at Work on New Album
News of a soon-to-be released record from Tool has been circulating over the past year, as the band has been touring internationally, and at last in April 2013, the group confirmed that work had indeed started on a new album. The group has not set a specific release date for the album, but some have speculated that it may hit shelves sometime in 2013, though with several members pursuing side projects, it may get pushed back to next year.
It has been seven years since the group released its last full-length effort, “10,000 Days,” which won the band its third GRAMMY Award and has been certified Platinum in the United States, Australia, and Canada. The Los Angeles-based quartet has been together for more than 20 years, and their experimental style of play has garnered thousands of followers and numerous accolades. Tool Hits the Road in 2012
The four members of post-metal giants Tool are taking breaks from their various musical commitments to reunite for a North American tour this January and February. The group's legions of fans rejoiced last December when 2012 Tool tickets went on sale. While the band has yet to complete their long-awaited 5th album, lead singer Maynard James Keenan did recently tell the media that the album is more than half done. The tour will consist of stops at some of the United States and Canada's biggest arenas, including TD Garden, Mandalay Events Center, and the Air Canada Centre.
2011 Tool Tour Full of Visual Arts
Tool distinguished themselves from their grunge peers in the 90's by making their music heavier and their live shows more of a spectacle. As the band proves in the live take on "Sober" above, the level of intensity the LA natives brought to the stage was unmatched in modern rock. Tool has spent the last few years headlining festivals like Lollapalooza, the perfect stage for their mix of alternative rock and visual art. Now as the band returns to cities around the country, we have 2011 Tool tickets available. Forever known to put on a magnetizing live performance, Tool concerts offer a wholly unique live music experience.
