The New York Mets couldn't make interim manager Jerry Manuel's debut a good one, as they lost 6-1 to the Los Angeles Angels. Manuel, who is replacing Willie Randolph after being fired, didn't have the answer for the Mets Tuesday night. After New York scored in the 1st inning, the lead quickly disappeared as the Angels went on to score 3 runs in the bottom of the 1st and never looked back. Johan Santana fell to 7-5 on the year as he pitched 6 innings, allowing 8 hits, 4 earned runs and 2 walks. The Mets managed only 6 hits on the night and will look to rebound Wednesday night in series finale.
