About the Backyardigans
The Backyardigans are a group of CGI animated creatures created in Canada by Janice Burgess debuting in 2004. The show is a joint connection between Canada’s Nelvana studios and Nickelodeon’s Nick Jr. The show targets children between the ages of 2 and 5. The premise is that Pablo (a blue penguin), Tyrone (an orange moose), Uniqua (a pink creature), Tasha (a yellow hippotamus), and Austin (a purple kangaroo) all share a backyard and use their imaginations to transform their backyard into different worlds.
more The show is a musical and every episode focuses on a different genre of music ranging from disco to reggae. The live performance of the Backyardigan’s focuses on one story entitled “The Tale of the Mighty Knights” where the group sets out on a quest to battle a dragon and save an egg. The characters in the show include knights, kings, goblins and fairies. The tour is scheduled to go through Canada and the United States through November 2008. The live show is guaranteed to entertain the entire family as the kids will love it and so will you!
