The Backyardigans are a group of CGI animated creatures created in Canada by Janice Burgess debuting in 2004. The show is a joint connection between Canada’s Nelvana studios and Nickelodeon’s Nick Jr. The show targets children between the ages of 2 and 5. The live performance of the Backyardigan’s focuses on one story entitled “The Tale of the Mighty Knights” where the group sets out on a quest to battle a dragon and save an egg.
