Vivid Seats 2017 NFL Pricing Preview Reveals a Six Percent Year-Over-Year Increase in Average Ticket Prices

Overall, average NFL ticket prices are up six percent year-over-year across the league, with teams like the New England Patriots, Denver Broncos and Atlanta Falcons leading the pack of highest average ticket prices.

Highlights:
- Californians and Texans love their teams. Both states dominate the preseason scene with nine of the 10 top-selling preseason games featuring a Lone Star or Golden State team.
- Fans in Los Angeles and Houston are currently paying the highest average prices for preseason tickets. Meanwhile, fans in Oakland will find an average price of less than $50, the least expensive of the top 10 matchups.
- The Dallas Cowboys are living up to their “America’s Team” nickname, making an appearance in three of the top five best-selling preseason games.
- Championships do not always predict popularity. The 2016 Super Bowl champion New England Patriots appear in only one of the 10 top-selling preseason games. Similarly, the Atlanta Falcons are not at all represented in the top 10.

- Fans hoping to catch a New England Patriots or Atlanta Falcons game will pay a premium this year, with average ticket prices of $380 (31 percent higher than 2016) and $259 (135 percent higher than 2016), respectively.
- Proving that winning pays, two-thirds (66 percent) of the teams that made it to the 2016 playoffs saw an increase in average ticket prices year-over-year.
- Winning records equal higher prices. Of the 10 teams with the most expensive ticket prices, eight had winning records in the 2016 regular season.
