Wilson, Vivid Seats Celebrate Pro Football Fandom with Custom ‘Second City’-Inspired Footballs
CHICAGO - Wilson Sporting Goods, the global leader in performance football, and Vivid Seats, North America’s leading independent ticket marketplace, today announced the release of specially designed commemorative footballs celebrating the official “second city” of eight pro football teams.
The cities represent the No. 2 most popular city for each respective NFL team’s fan base, according to Vivid Seats ticket sales—or the top spot for fans beyond each team’s primary city.
Each Wilson football features a custom design that celebrates the die-hard football fans in those markets, with distinct cultural references unique to each city.
Wilson is the official football supplier of the NFL, College Football Playoff and National Collegiate Athletic Association.
The cities, along with the fan base they represent, are listed below:

The footballs, which will be given away to fans in those markets, pay special homage to bastions of NFL fan bases that rarely get special acknowledgement.
“Everyone knows that the city of Chicago exudes passion for the Bears, but many may not realize that Naperville is a major stronghold of the fan base,” said Andrew Gretchko of Vivid Seats. “These footballs are designed to honor fans in eight cities that pack the stadium on Sundays in support of their team.”
Vivid Seats and Wilson Sporting Goods share roots as Chicago-based companies.
“We are excited to celebrate football fans across the country with this fun collaboration,” said Kristina Peterson-Lohman, PR Director for Wilson Sporting Goods. “We have called Chicago home since the day we were founded in 1914, and it’s fantastic to partner with Chicago leader Vivid Seats to bring together our product and their data insights to create footballs that are one-of-a-kind.
