Lutzes. Salchows. Axels. No, these aren’t words in some foreign language; these are real figure skating moves. Why do I bring this up? It can only mean one thing: that Smuckers Stars on Ice is starting its 2008-9 season. For those of you who don't know, Stars on Ice is a travelling ice show with dancers and music. But unlike some other ice shows, this one has real professional skaters; most of them have competed in the Olympics and other international competition. This year's cast includes such well-known skaters as Sasha Cohen, Yuka Sato, Xue Shen and Hongbo Zhao and many more. The show started in 1986 as a grown-up ice show; in other words there would be no big Mickey Mouse characters or fairy tales. Over the years, its cast has included almost all the big names, not only in American figure skating, but also those from other nations as well. If you hurry you can get tickets to this great event. The world of Professional Bull Riding is often overlooked and not given the credit of being one of the most exhilarating sports to watch. Much like the world of NASCAR, Professional Bull Riding holds that suspenseful allure over spectators… that feeling of "in one second, things can go horribly, horribly wrong." One moment the bull rider can be adeptly mastering his beast vehicle, looking as if he will safely attain the requisite 8 seconds on top. One small oversight or slip in over-confidence, however, and the rider's face can be jerked into a concussive meeting with the much sturdier bull's head, followed by a trampling if the bull feels the urge. It's this uneasy excitement that really drives the sport and makes it so interesting to watch. Animal lovers can root for the bull to come out the victor and human lovers can root for the rider. PBR covers both types of interest. Even though the year is winding down, there are still some great chances left to catch all the action of a PBR event live. Take a look at our PBR tickets and find out when the next event comes to a town near you!

While it may be quickly losing ground to the newer, faster and (dare I say) more hardcore world of Mixed Martial Arts Fighting, the "gentleman's sport" of boxing can still thrill the audience when there are two really great fighters going at it in a highly anticipated match. While that in itself may be a somewhat rare occasion anymore, the boxing world has just recently put on some worth-the-hype matches (such as Hopkins vs. Pavlik and Calzaghe vs. Jones Jr.) and has some future tricks up its sleeve as well. The most notable upcoming matchup will be between "The Golden Boy" Oscar De La Hoya and "Pac-Man" Manny Pacquiao. Widely regarded as the best pound for pound fighter in boxing today, Pacquiao is actually listed as the underdog for this matchup because of the fact that he will be fighting up above his normal weight class. Boxing pundits feel that he will be moving too far up to fight against De La Hoya, who will be fighting in a weight class very close to his natural body weight. But then again, Pacquiao is 6 years the junior of De La Hoya so speed and conditioning will be on his side, as well as a recent boxing history that has pushed his confidence level to the ceiling. The one thing fans can expect, however, is a lot of hard hitting punches from both men. Neither wants this to be left in the hands of the judges. You can catch all of this action live if you check out our supply of boxing tickets and find seats to their December 6th showdown today!
What began 4 years ago as a lark in London has become one of the biggest shows on Broadway and across the nation. Mary Poppins was made into a musical and opened at the Prince Edward Theatre in London, England in 2004. It quickly gained popularity, in the same way as the movie of the same name did, and was nominated for 9 Olivier Awards in 2005, winning 2. Since then, it has spread to Broadway in New York, appearing at the New Amsterdam Theater, where it continues playing to the day. Now, however, it’s not just playing in New York and London. Instead, it is playing at theaters all over the country. There is a national UK tour and a national US tour. So there are possibly performances right in your neck of the woods. Want to find out if this award-winning show is playing near you? Take a look at the Mary Poppins show dates we have and, while you’re at it, order some tickets too.
6-0 in the conference. 10-0 overall. What team could this be? This year, it could be several teams, but one of the big surprises this time around is the University of Alabama Crimson Tide. They’re headed to the SEC Championship game next month, but they have some tough competition this season, so they have little room for error. Still, it’s a great improvement over last season, when they went 7-6 and ended up second-to-last in the SEC West Division. This year, they haven’t lost, and they may have to go completely unbeaten in order to keep their chances at the National Championship alive. It looks good for them, as most of their games haven’t even been close this season. Last week against LSU was as close as it got; they needed an overtime period in order to seal the deal. We shall see how they do this week and how they do in two weeks against Auburn. Hey! Do you want to see any of those games? How about the SEC championship game? You will not be disappointed! The University of Pittsburgh Panthers have been getting better and better over the last several years. Over the last 7 years, they have won more than any other Big East team. They are one of only six schools in the nation that have gone to the Sweet Sixteen 4 times since 2002. The 2007-8 season marked their 15th all time 20-win season. So much for the past. The team’s guards used to be the engine and spirit of the team, but this year, the forwards are on track to hold their own. Actually, the forwards almost look better than the guards. What does all this add up to anyway? The University of Pittsburgh Panthers are ranked #5 in the nation and are expected to go all the way to March Madness again. Tonight is opening night for them against Fairleigh Dickenson. The Panthers have won 11 consecutive opening night games. They also have 6 of their top 9 players from last season. It sounds like a recipe for a great opening night and a great year. Don’t miss a single game! Get your Pitt basketball tickets now!

Even though it's not over this year, it practically is. The Sprint Cup is sprinting to the end of the series, with Jimmie Johnson in a very commanding lead, which he will not relinquish this year, unless he really does poorly in Florida this upcoming weekend. This will be his 3rd straight Cup championship, which puts him in a very small club. He is ahead by 141 points this time around, which is hard to lose in just one race. So we turn towards next year. After all, the Daytona 500 is only a couple months away; it happens in mid-February. So that's only a little while for us to catch our breaths. Who are the players to watch for? Jeff Burton will probably be hoping for a comeback. Of course, Johnson will be looking to defend his championship. But the up-and-coming racers are Carl Edwards and Kyle Busch, who have improved immensely this year. They each have several winning races under their belt, though not only from the Sprint Cup, but also from the Truck Series and others. This doesn't count in the Driver of the Year awards or anything, but it bodes well for them next year. We in NASCARLand hold our collective breaths for next year. If you don't want to miss a race, get your 2009 NASCAR tickets today!
The world was changed permanently on June 17, 1943...and no it had nothing to do with that silly War. Just being swaddled in a cozy towel (probably with a full quaff of hair on his head already) and handed back to his mother was a future mega star of the music world. "What are you going to name him Mrs. Manilow?" asked the doctor. She pauses for a moment before it hits her..."Barry. I am going to call him Barry Manilow." Just then a thin shaft of sunlight peers through the window as Mrs. Manilow holds her child outstretched in her hands, bathing him in the light. Flash forward 65 years later and it's easy to see that Barry Manilow has had a significant impact on the music industry. His titles include: singer/songwriter, musician, arranger, producer and conductor. He has sold well over 76 million records in his lifetime, with 5 separate records simultaneously maintaining a spot on the best-selling charts in 1978. It's safe to say he's better than just about 98% of the world, which is all the more reason to catch his upcoming live tour. Barry "The Man" Manilow is once again taking it to the Las Vegas stages and you can catch it live with Barry Manilow tickets from our website.
