Ralph Wilson Stadium Information
Ralph Wilson Stadium is home to the Buffalo Bills. This stadium is located in the suburbs of Buffalo, New York and holds 73,000 people. This open air stadium officially opened in August 1973 and was remodeled with additional luxury boxes in 1999. In 2008, upgrades were completed on the scoreboard system which will allow modern state-of-the-art statistical scoring, display of sponsor ads and fan prompts.
If you visit Ralph Wilson Stadium on a football game day, you can take part in the Game-day Experience hosted next door in the Buffalo Bills Field-house. This pre-game party is a celebration of all things football and includes a youth football field, interactive games, and the local radio station’s live broadcast. Most die hard Buffalo Bills fans attend this party and tail gate at the same time.
Many people claim that the football stadium was designed incorrectly for the Buffalo weather. The main playing field in this stadium is fifty feet underground and the design of the stadium allows the winds of Buffalo to come into the stadium. Once the wind blows into the stadium it creates unusual and unpredictable wind patterns that kickers find difficult to play in.
