The Riverbend Music Center is an outdoor venue located in Cincinnati, Ohio along the river. The music center can hold a little more than 20,000 fans. It has pavilion seating which is covered, with the rest of the seats and lawn being uncovered. Riverbend opened in 1984 as it was home to the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, but would be available for artists of all types of music to perform. It was built by Michael Graves with the idea that it would provide an outdoor venue for people to enjoy music in the summer months. That is the case to this day, as performers such as Jimmy Buffet, Dave Matthews Band, Kenny Chesney and Rascal Flatts.
The outdoor music center does not allow tailgating on the property or on surroundings as it is state law. Parking fees are included in the ticket price for most events at Riverbend. Upon exiting the expressway, designated parking is located within Coney Island Amusement Park and River Downs Race Track. The music center also accommodates all people with disabilities. They also have hotels located near the venue for those guests who are traveling. Because it is located in the Midwest, it is only open during the summer and early fall months.
