Colgate Raiders football has been shaping Saturdays in Hamilton, New York since 1890, pairing academic grit with on-field bite. The Raiders have stacked Patriot League championships and punched deep FCS playoff runs, highlighted by a trip to the 2003 national championship game and the fabled 1932 team that finished undefeated, untied, and unscored upon. Program greats like Walter Payton Award winner Kenny Gamble and long-time head coach Dick Biddle helped define a standard that still drives practices on the hill.

Game day centers on Crown Field at Andy Kerr Stadium, where a close-knit student section, the pep band, and brisk Central New York air turn every third down into a roar. Annual showdowns with Cornell for the Empire State Bowl fuel the rivalry heartbeat, while tailgates and maroon traditions make newcomers feel like alumni by kickoff.
