Born in 1889 in Newark, Delaware, the Fightin' Blue Hens have shaped Saturdays in the First State. Led by innovators Dave Nelson and Tubby Raymond, Delaware popularized the Wing-T and turned it into trophies, culminating in the 2003 FCS national championship and a collection of small-college crowns and conference titles across the Yankee, Atlantic 10 and CAA eras.

Icons like Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco and NFL MVP Rich Gannon forged their games here, while the annual Battle of the Blue versus Villanova raises the stakes every fall. Delaware Stadium comes alive in a sea of blue and gold, from spirited student sections to all-day tailgates ringing South Campus. The band roars, the crowd surges, and every seat feels close to the action, creating an inviting, big-game atmosphere in a classic college setting.
