Born in 1920 in Ashland, Ohio, Ashland Eagles football blends small-town pride with big-time ambition. The Eagles compete in NCAA Division II and have stacked conference crowns, including GLIAC titles in 2012, 2015, and 2017, plus the 2022 Great Midwest championship. Fans still talk about the unbeaten 1972 team and the program's first NCAA playoff win in 2008.

Legends set the tone here. College Football Hall of Fame coach Fred Martinelli built a winning standard, and Hall of Famer Bill Royce terrorized offenses off the edge. Every fall, the Traveling Trophy game with Hillsdale sparks week-long buzz. Home Saturdays at Jack Miller Stadium/Martinelli Field feel personal and loud, with tailgates ringing the Dwight Schar Athletic Complex and the postgame Victory Bell tradition echoing as students sing the fight song. Your next vivid moment starts here.
