Founded in 1911 in Columbia, South Carolina, Benedict College Tigers football brings Division II energy to Charlie W. Johnson Stadium. The Tigers have surged recently, winning back-to-back SIAC championships in 2022 and 2023 after undefeated regular seasons, including a 58-21 title win over Tuskegee and a 47-10 rout of Albany State. Their 2023 run also earned HBCU Division II national champion recognition from HBCU Legends.

Fans pack the 11,000-seat venue for purple-and-gold pageantry: spirited tailgates along Two Notch Road, a roaring student section, and the Marching Tiger Band of Distinction setting the rhythm. Program-changing coach Chennis Berry helped spark the renaissance, and the annual crosstown clash with Allen University in the South Carolina HBCU Classic keeps Columbia buzzing. Whether it's homecoming week or a crisp fall Saturday, Benedict gamedays invite every fan to be part of the moment.
