Kentucky State University Thorobreds Football Tickets
Kentucky State Thorobreds Football Tickets
Born in 1907 in Frankfort, Kentucky, Kentucky State Thorobreds football blends HBCU tradition with on-field ambition in the SIAC. The program’s golden era produced Black College National Championships in 1934, 1935 and 1937, guided by visionary coach Henry Kean, whose teams also stacked 10 straight Midwest Athletic Association crowns. Today’s Thorobreds chase new milestones while honoring that legacy every Saturday in the fall.
Fans know the icons: College Football Hall of Famer Joe “Tarzan” Kendall and the annual showdown with Central State, a rivalry that regularly spotlights KSU in classic showcases. Alumni Stadium seats 6,000 yet sounds far bigger thanks to a roaring student section, all-day tailgating and the Mighty Marching Thorobreds lighting up halftime. It’s a welcoming, high-energy game day that turns Frankfort into Thorobred Nation.
