Born in 1887 in Washington, D.C., Georgetown Hoyas football blends historic grit with modern Patriot League ambition. The Blue and Gray’s proud resume includes a 23-game unbeaten run from 1938 to 1940, an Orange Bowl appearance on January 1, 1941, and MAAC championships in 1997 and 1998. Legends like head coach Jack Hagerty and All-American Al Blozis helped define the program’s identity, and today the Lou Little Trophy matchup with Columbia keeps regional bragging rights lively. On campus at Cooper Field, fans pack an intimate venue where Hoya Blue leads booming Hoya Saxa chants, tailgates line the Hilltop, and students, alumni and families sit close enough to feel each tackle. If you’re chasing that next vivid memory on a crisp fall Saturday, the Hoyas are ready to welcome you.
