Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders football has been part of Murfreesboro since 1911, building a proud identity on grit, speed and moments that live on. The program owns numerous conference crowns from its Ohio Valley and Sun Belt days and has delivered signature FBS victories in the 2009 New Orleans Bowl, 2021 Bahamas Bowl and 2022 Hawaii Bowl. Fans still celebrate standouts like All-Pro safety Kevin Byard and tip their caps to longtime head coach Boots Donnelly, a program cornerstone.

Home Saturdays at Johnny "Red" Floyd Stadium feel uniquely Middle Tennessee. The Blue Zoo student section, the Band of Blue and the winged-horse mascot Lightning turn Raider Walk and Party in the Grove tailgating into a full-campus rally before kickoff. Close sightlines, loud corners and neighborly Southern energy make every snap feel big, especially when Western Kentucky arrives for 100 Miles of Hate.
