Born in 1890 in Boulder, Colorado, Colorado Buffaloes football turns fall Saturdays at Folsom Field into a high-altitude celebration framed by the Flatirons. The student section roars through Fight CU while Ralphie, the live buffalo, sprints ahead of the team, and tailgaters pack Franklin Field hours before kickoff. It is an atmosphere built for unforgettable moments.

The Buffs claimed the 1990 national championship, sealed with a gritty Orange Bowl win over Notre Dame, and have piled up conference titles across the Big Eight and Big 12 eras along with signature bowl victories like the 1995 Fiesta Bowl. Icons abound, from Heisman winner Rashaan Salaam to Kordell Stewart's Miracle at Michigan Hail Mary and coach Bill McCartney's ascendant years, a legacy that keeps fans believing in the next big memory.
