Founded in 1924 in Statesboro, Georgia, Georgia Southern Eagles Football blends small-town pride with big-stage results. Under Erk Russell, the program roared back in the 1980s, capturing six NCAA Division I-AA/FCS national championships (1985, 1986, 1989, 1990, 1999, 2000), plus numerous conference crowns. Since moving to the Sun Belt, the Eagles have added memorable FBS postseason wins, including the 2015 GoDaddy Bowl, the 2018 Camellia Bowl, and the 2020 New Orleans Bowl.

Game days at Allen E. Paulson Stadium, often called the Prettiest Little Stadium in America, feel electric, from Freedom the bald eagle's flight to G.A.T.A.-fueled chants and tailgates shaded by pines. Rivalries with Appalachian State and Georgia State keep stakes high each year, while legends like Adrian Peterson and dual-threat icon Tracy Ham still shape the standard. Ready to be part of it?
