Founded in 1912 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, the Southern Miss Golden Eagles have built a proud football identity defined by grit and big-game moments. The program has stacked multiple conference titles across eras and celebrated memorable bowl victories, including a 2011 league crown capped by a Hawai‘i Bowl win. Legends like Brett Favre and Hall of Famer Ray Guy helped cement a national reputation for toughness, explosive special teams, and clutch Saturday drama.

M.M. Roberts Stadium, “The Rock,” turns game day into a campus-wide celebration. The Eagle Walk funnels the team through roaring fans and The Pride of Mississippi marching band before a raucous student section takes over.
