Founded in 1905 in Niagara University, New York, the Niagara Purple Eagles men’s basketball program blends tradition and tenacity. The Purple Eagles have reached the NCAA Tournament three times, highlighted by a 1970 Sweet Sixteen run, and claimed MAAC hardware with tournament titles in 2005 and 2007 plus a 2013 regular season crown. Calvin Murphy’s record-shattering scoring and coaching icons Taps Gallagher and Frank Layden shaped the program’s identity, while the annual Battle of the Bridge against Canisius keeps Western New York bragging rights on the line.

Home games at the intimate Gallagher Center, set on Frank and Barbara Layden Court, are amplified by the raucous N-Zone student section, championship banners and a close-to-the-floor vantage that makes every possession feel urgent. Be part of the energy and create your own memories. Buy tickets from Vivid Seats to experience it live!
