Born in 1915 in Flagstaff, Northern Arizona Lumberjacks football blends mountain-town grit with high-altitude speed. As proud members of the Big Sky Conference, the J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome becomes a noise chamber at 7,000 feet, where the indoor turf and roof keep the energy humming all game long. Tailgates ring the pines and the student section belts Axe Em Jacks while Louie the Lumberjack rallies blue and gold.

NAU has captured Big Sky titles in 1978 and 2003, with multiple FCS playoff berths showcasing Flagstaff's talent pipeline. Fans still savor the 2021 upset of Arizona in Tucson, a statement win that echoed across the state. Iconic standouts include quarterback Case Cookus, the Jerry Rice Award winner, and defensive great Rex Mirich, a College Football Hall of Famer. From crisp fall Saturdays to rivalry-tinged conference clashes, every seat promises a vivid memory.
