Founded in 1922 in Portland, Oregon, the Portland Pilots men’s basketball program has carved a proud place in the West Coast Conference. The Pilots hoisted the WCC Tournament trophy in 1996 and earned NCAA Tournament bids in 1959 and 1996, milestones that still electrify fans along the Willamette. Iconic names dot their history, from Miami Heat head coach alumnus Erik Spoelstra to scoring star Pooh Jeter, each emblematic of Portland’s gritty, sharpshooting identity.

Game nights at the on-campus Chiles Center feel close and loud; the 4,852-seat arena opened in 1984 and packs in a purple-clad student section, a lively pep band, and neighbors who treat every possession like a rally. Annual showdowns with Gonzaga and crosstown Portland State up the stakes and the volume. Be part of the energy, seize your seats, and buy tickets from Vivid Seats to experience it live!
