Princeton Tigers football began in 1869 in Princeton, New Jersey, the same season college football was born. The Tigers claim 28 national championships and have captured 13 Ivy League titles, with Heisman winner Dick Kazmaier lighting the program’s legacy in 1951. Princeton’s orange and black have shaped the sport’s early chapters and continue to set the pace in today’s Ivy race.

Every fall, annual showdowns with Harvard and Yale anchor the Big Three rivalry. When Princeton beats both, campus celebrates with a roaring bonfire on Cannon Green. Home games unfold on Powers Field at Princeton Stadium, a 27,800-seat venue where the student section and the Princeton University Band fuel a welcoming, high-energy scene. Smart tailgating, time-honored chants, and crisp autumn Saturdays make each game day unforgettable.
