Founded in 1891 in Lexington, Virginia, VMI Keydets Football channels the grit of the Corps into every snap. Competing in the Southern Conference, the Keydets captured the 2020-21 league title and earned the program's first FCS playoff berth, a breakthrough that rallied alumni, cadets, and fans across the Commonwealth.

Each season, the Military Classic of the South against The Citadel for the Silver Shako is appointment viewing. Home Saturdays at Alumni Memorial Field at Foster Stadium are unmistakably VMI: the Corps of Cadets marching in with the Regimental Band and Pipes, a lively student section, and mountain views that make kickoff feel ceremonial. Recent standouts like record-setting quarterback Reece Udinski and head coach Scott Wachenheim helped elevate expectations. From pregame meetups around post to postgame salutes, the Keydets community turns Lexington into a welcoming, tradition-rich gameday destination.
