This is only the second year that there will be an NHL Winter Classic game. Last season, on January 1, 2008, this outdoor ice hockey game was played in Orchard Park, New York, at Ralph Wilson Stadium. In that game, the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Buffalo Sabres 2-1 in a shootout. The young Penguins star Sidney Crosby scored the winning goal in the shootout. This year, the two teams will be the Detriot Red Wings playing against the Chicago Blackhawks at Chicago's historic Wrigley Field. Wrigley Field is usually the home of the Chicago Cubs baseball team, and this will be the first hockey game played in it. What's so different about these games? It's outdoors! Maybe it'll be cold to watch the game. But at the same time, the game is going to be so exciting that you hardly even notice! It is an historic event that you should not miss! Get 2009 Winter Classic tickets as soon as possible.
What do people think of when they think of Christmas? Yes, there are Christmas trees and cookies and caroling. But one thing that people think of immediately is Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. The play has been a mainstay of Christmas almost since the day it was first published. Who doesn’t love the story of Scrooge meeting the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future? And there’s Tiny Tim, who can’t walk but is the most generous child in the world and his father Bob Cratchit, who is also a very kind man. It is a great play for the entire family, because the message of rejuvenation and charity is one that everyone needs to hear once in awhile. Children, parents and grandparents always enjoy this show and everyone can really relate to the feelings of the characters. Don’t miss out on this essential Christmas experience! The NFL has already played for 12 weeks. It seems like just yesterday that we excitedly watched opening day games, back when it was warm and sunny, with a light, crisp autumn breeze in the air. Now, at least in some parts of the country, it's gotten colder, with some games being played in the snow! It has been an exciting season, too. The New York Giants and the Tennessee Titans are this year’s headliners, with records of 10-1 and 11-1 respectively. But there are several divisions that have 2- and 3-way ties. With 4-5 games left to go, the NFC South leader, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has a record of 8-3, which isn’t too shabby. But the last-place New Orleans Saints has a record of 6-5, and still could easily take the division. In the AFC North, it is similar, with the top team leading the second place one by a mere game. It is going to be nothing but exciting in a lot of games over the next month. And then the playoffs begin! So everything from now to the Super Bowl at the beginning of February is going to be great. Take a look at our NFL football tickets now, and get tickets to see your favorite team!
Let's face it, Elmo was born for the stage, not the camera. The charming attitude, the pleasant gait while he moves...he's not unlikeable. It just can't happen. So when producers realized that he was unhappy with his screen time on Sesame Street (as well as being abused numerous times by the cookie and sugar addled Cookie Monster), it was a natural move to put him on the stage where he can shine and just be himself. After only a few years on the stage, Elmo's burned the midnight oil and put together a slew of amazing stage productions including: When Elmo Grows Up, Elmo Makes Music, and Elmo! Ready for Action. He even handles most of the back stage work like makeup, lighting, and stage repairs. He's basically a work-a-holic. But he does it because he loves to entertain. Browse through our set of Sesame Street Live tickets and you can catch Elmo in any one of his handful of delightful shows. It's guaranteed fun for the whole family!
"THE HORROR! THE HORROR!" Kurtz's last words in Heart of Darkness pertaining to the BCS rankings have never been more applicable. This year, with only a few weeks to go before the season ends and bowl game bids are announced, the ranking system is utter madness. First place has never been so heavily contested...perhaps ever. The possible bids for the big BCS bowl game could go to numerous worthy teams. Naturally, barring any last game meltdown, the Alabama Crimson Tide have their place locked in. It's the opponent's bid that makes this matter convoluted. There are three other teams with a 10-1 record, who have equally demonstrated their capabilities: The Texas Longhorns, Florida Gators, and Oklahoma Sooners. With a week left to play in the regular season, only Texas has a game against an unranked opponent. This means that both Florida and Oklahoma have the greater potential to lose a game, and their spot in the BCS game. If they all win, however, it seems impossible to discern who should stay and who should go. But what makes the whole situation even more confusing is that there are a few other undefeated teams who are not even in the top 5. Maybe they didn't have as rough a schedule, but nonetheless, they should get some sort of consideration. But however it goes down, Vivid Seats has the BCS bowl game tickets you need.

At the dawn of every new year, two strong teams play an exciting football game. Before the game, there is a big parade. It all takes place in Pasadena. Take a guess what game it is. If you guessed the Rose Bowl, you would be correct. This coming January, the BCS Championship wont be played at the Rose Bowl. The rules rotate the championship game around the Rose Bowl, the Orange Bowl, the Sugar Bowl and the Fiesta Bowl. But there are some great teams in the running to play in the Rose Bowl this year. Alabama is this year’s big surprise team with a .987 BCS winning percentage. Texas is also an unexpected winner this year so far with a .921 average. Oklahoma had some big troubles at the beginning of the season, but since have gone on an impressive run at the end of this season, bringing them up to third in the BCS. And there are also great non-BCS teams who have a good chance to get into the game! Who wouldn’t want to go to southern California in the middle of winter and see an amazing football game? Or you could even go and see the Tournament of Roses Parade and then watch two of these great teams play in the Rose Bowl, the oldest of all the Bowls! Get your Rose Bowl tickets today!
After some convincing, multiple-goal wins over Cuba and most recently Guatemala, the USA Men’s soccer team has a lot to be confident about. They are playing some extremely cohesive team ball and are capitalizing on their finishing chances. As a team, they can now rest for the remainder of 2008. However, they will be called back into action shortly after the ball drops and 2009 rolls in, as they are scheduled to face off against the perennial talent Sweden on January 24 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California. This is definitely not a match that the US can afford to take lightly. With no condescension really intended, Cuba and Guatemala are far removed from the quality of nearly any team in the European continent. Unfortunately for the US (and its fans), too much confidence is usually built up during these warm up games, ultimately leading to a grave disappointment when the World Cup comes around and the US gets manhandled. Hopefully, the US can just focus on the task at hand and continue to play with the same inspiration that they’ve played with so far. Sweden will be a tough matchup but will be perfect to test out the skills of the 2010 USA World Cup roster. If you want to see it all live, you need look no further than Vivid Seats to find your US men’s soccer tickets.
The Cirque du Soleil Saltimbanco Tour is coming to an arena near you. Of course you know Cirque du Soleil, right? Well, for those of you who don't know, it is a touring company that combines various forms of circus performance from around the world. They mainly use acrobatic acts, as well as live music and creative costumes. Saltimbanco is the oldest show from the Cirque du Soleil arsenal of shows, but the original was discontinued in 2006 after 14 years of production. Last year, they decided to produce a new version of the old program. Saltimbanco means "to jump on a bench" literally, but it refers more to acrobatic kinds of moves, jumping up onto a stage and that kind of thing. Cirque du Soleilm really is a family favorite, at any time of year. Kids and adults are always amazed at what these acrobats can do. You really shouldn't miss it when it comes to a venue near you. Hurry and get your Cirque Saltimbanco tickets today!
They were on a nice 3-game winning streak until the Vancouver Canucks came in and gave everything a good hosin' up. The New York Rangers (now 14-6) need to rebound from the decisive loss they experienced the other night when the Canucks' offense proved simply too dominating and scored 6 total goals with 5 different players. The total score of the game, 6-3, does not even capture the full sense of how the game went down. Perhaps they were asleep on their feet or simply just overconfident, but the Rangers fell into a 4-0 deficit within the first 23 minutes of play. The combined efforts of Chris Drury, Aaron Voros and Ryan Callahan (each with a goal for New York) was too little too late. The offense could not get it together. Nor could the defense…they looked sloppy. But maybe most disappointing was the poor performance of Henrik Lundqvist between the pipes for the Rangers. Coming into the game he held the third lowest goals-against ratio in the league (1.92). In this game, however, he didn't even make it through two periods of play, replaced by Stephen Valiquette after letting up his fifth goal. Overall, it was a total letdown on the part of the Rangers. Fortunately for New York, they still maintain a 3 point lead over second place Pittsburgh Penguins and will look to build on that when they play in Ottawa against the Senators this Saturday. If you want to catch this game live, or any other game of the season for that matter, check out our selection of Rangers tickets.
