With the NBA season well underway, the halfway mark is nearly here. And if the halfway mark is almost here, that can only mean that the NBA All Star Weekend is right around the corner. Every year, the best of the best are selected and pitted against one another in various forms of competition, all for the fans' amusement. The massive, three-day event has something new to offer fans every day. On Friday, you can see the Rookie Challenge, in which first year pros take on selected second year pros in various challenges. Additionally, Friday also show cases the celebrity all star game, each team featuring an assortment of celebrities and one WNBA player. Saturday is mainly a day of shooting prowess, such as the 3-point contest or the slam dunk-off. But the culmination comes on Sunday when the best in the league face off against each other in the East vs. West battle. While there's nothing riding on the outcome (such as in MLB), pride is more than enough to motivate each side. You can see the entire weekend-long event with our great NBA All Star Jam tickets currently on sale.
“In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps tonight.” This is the beginning of one of the best songs in the musical The Lion King. As one of the most popular shows from Broadway in recent years, The Lion King packs theaters wherever it goes throughout the nation. This production utilizes puppet-like costumes and it is described by many as one of the most innovative shows Broadway has ever produced. But this show isn’t just in big cities or on Broadway. For example, right now, The Lion King is being performed in Indianapolis. You might not expect such a major musical to be produced in Indianapolis, but it’s a great thing that outstanding shows can attract crowds in places like your own hometown. And it’s even better that they get the chance to come to smaller cities like Indianapolis. It doesn’t happen everyday and the show’s in Indianapolis only until the 28th. You need to grab your Lion King Indianapolis tickets now, because you don’t want to miss it!
Did you know that Yanni’s given name is Yiannis Hrysomallis? He was actually born in Greece and is one of the most popular musicians of the New Age genre. His first really popular album was Yanni Live at the Acropolis, released in 1994. He quickly rocketed up the charts in the new age world and has remained there ever since. Yanni says that he prefers the term “contemporary instrumental” in describing his particular kind of music. With Disney Pearl Imprint, he will release an album called Yanni Voices on March 24th of next year. After that, he will go back on tour. He will perform in many cities all across the US and Canada. Some people on the web have joked that he and his new age band will levitate from one city to the next, instead of taking a plane, but that seems doubtful. In any event, Yanni will be visiting many different cities, big and small, next spring. You should get your Yanni concert tickets right away to reserve your spot!
There's no more arguing about who should be in what BCS bowl game; there's no more complaining that this team is more deserving or that team's schedule was far easier; the pundits' opinions are (as they have been all along) irrelevant; finally, after an intensely complicated season of college football, the BCS bowl games have been decided. The mysterious shadows in charge of the BCS rankings have put the irrevocable hammer down on their selections. We now know that it will be Florida against Oklahoma in the BCS Championship game, Penn State against USC in the Rose Bowl, Utah against Alabama in the Sugar Bowl, and Texas Tech against Ole Miss in the Cotton Bowl, just to name a few. So now the country plays the waiting game. For nearly two weeks, one of which has already passed luckily, the nation goes through a cold turkey stop of college football. But in the end, the Christmas season is made all that much better when it’s combined with two straight weeks of exhilarating postseason action. And speaking of the Christmas season, our selection of college bowl game tickets may be the perfect gift this year...
With less than a fortnight to go until Christmas, the time is running out for you to get tickets to the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. This show has become a major New York tradition since it started in 1933. But nowadays, you don’t need to be in New York City to enjoy the show. Not at all! Several years ago, the show started touring all around America too and can be enjoyed by thousands more happy people. As we mentioned here before, they have added several new scenes and updated some of the choreography, so it's pretty much a whole different show from the one that you might’ve seen in previous years. Not to worry: they still have high kicking dancers and all the razzle-dazzle that you expect to see at this show. It runs through December 30th, giving you one extra week after Christmas to see the show. But that still doesn’t leave you much time to find out what the new show is like, and you don’t want to wait another full year, do you? Get your Radio City Christmas Spectacular tickets before it’s too late!
If you liked Riverdance, you’ll love this show. This is the group that’s been called the “Riverdance for the voice”. There’s a good reason for this: they’re from Ireland and they sing a similar kind of music. The five Celtic Women are Chloe Agnew, Lynn Hilary, Lisa Kelly, Alex Sharpe and fiddler Mairead Nesbitt. In 2009, the group will be embarking on a new world tour, called the Isle of Hope tour, which will stop in more than two dozen cities. Their music is a mix of traditional Irish music and New Age styles. The group became popular almost instantly after they released their first album called Celtic Woman, which sat atop the Billboard World Music charts for 81 total weeks. Clearly, if you like world music, Irish dance music, or beautiful singing, this is the group you need to see when they come to a performance space near you! Get your Celtic Woman tickets today so you can see them in concert soon.
The Canadian post-grunge hard rock band Nickelback is back with their latest album, called Dark Horse. Have you ever waltzed before? Over the last 20 years, there has been an international waltzing renaissance. More people in Europe and in the US, as well as around the world, are dancing the waltz. Andre Rieu is one of the big reasons for this growing popularity. His concerts with his Johann Strauss Orchestra have packed houses on at least four continents. Rieu started the Strauss Orchestra in 1987, having performed with orchestras before that in Maastricht and Limburg. This man is an expert and he also has a really fun attitude onstage. He’s from the Netherlands and speaks English, so you don’t have to worry that you wont understand the show. This is a great concert to bring your family to see, or just come on your own! And it’s not just a typical, dull classical music concert. It’s really an experience of the music-exciting and fun! It’s not only toe-tapping, but it will actually make you dance the waltz; it’s just that invigorating. Get your Andre Rieu tickets today and enjoy a great concert!
With the high rate of personnel turn over that Fleetwood Mac has experienced since its inception in 1967, it's fitting that their new tour is so far only one month long. Throughout the bands history, they have not had a consistent lineup for more than two years. Other than their founding member/drummer Mick Fleetwood, no other band member has been involved on every album and every tour; the band was a revolving door in which members would come and go as they pleased. So now with their greatest hits album soon to be released, the four current members are taking it slow with the tour. Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, and Stevie Nicks (the now formation of Fleetwood Mac) are set to do some intense touring on the Northeast Coast of the United States (as well as dipping into the Midwest and even Canada) throughout March of 2009. The tour named "Unleashed," is a 16-concert mini tour promoting their greatest hits album of the same name. More Fleetwood Mac tour dates are expected to be announced very shortly, however, it may be a good idea to get your tickets now, just in case this turns out to be the shortest reunion yet.
