Fleetwood Mac seems to be all set to begin touring early next year. There have been no show dates released yet from the band, but reports say they will be getting together in early January to begin rehearsing for the tour. Fleetwood Mac has not been together for an outing since 2003-2004 when they were promoting “Say You Will.” This tour is a bit unusual as it is common for bands to tour after they release their latest album, but Fleetwood Mac will tour first and then release their album. The band feels that the album will be more successful if the band goes on the road first, they think that it will get the music juices flowing and help them hit the ground running rather than head to the studio and start from the beginning. There were rumors that Sheryl Crow would be touring with Fleetwood Mac but reports say that it will not be happening. Fleetwood Mac should make for an interesting tour, and fans certainly will be waiting for the dates to be announced.

This weekend will feature great match ups between division rivals and plenty of excitement for all MLB fans. Off course the biggest of these showdowns, is the New York Yankees heading to bean town to take on the Boston Red Sox. This AL East match up gets some extra electricity as David Ortiz returns after missing 47 games because of an injury of his wrist. Joba Chamberlain and Josh Beckett will start the series opener, as the Red Sox although ties with the Tampa Bay Rays, hold a 3 game lead over the Yankees. Another big weekend series is the Chicago White Sox and the Detroit Tigers, as the Tigers are the hottest team in baseball and are finally healthy. Detroit will look to gain some ground on Chicago as the White Sox currently hold a 5 ½ game lead over the Tigers. Gavin Floyd and Nate Roberston are the penciled in starters for the first of the three game set.

The Philadelphia Phillies will welcome the Atlanta Braves for a three game series starting Friday in which Jair Jurrjens and Howie Kendrick will take the hill for their teams. The Phillies currently trail the Mets by 1 game for the lead in the NL East, with the Braves not far behind as they trail New York by 6 ½ games. This weekend has the makings of another great one, as does every weekend during the MLB season. It is never too early to think about the playoffs, because everyone knows that every game counts, but this weekend will give teams the chance to make up some serious ground in the standings. With less than 2 months to go in the MLB season, it is no surprise we will be watching until the end of September to see how things turn out. Fans are trying to get their hands on MLB tickets for this weekend as well as the rest of the season due to all the excitement the 2008 season has provided so far.

The Chicago Cubs and Arizona Diamondbacks both lead their respected divisions and with a three game series that started yesterday, fans know what to expect in the next two days. Chase Field is always electric, but for this series the voltage has been turned up and a lot.  This is a potential preview for a playoff matchup as both these teams met last year in the postseason as the D-Backs got the better of the Cubs with a sweep.  This isn't the same team from 2007 though, several new faces has the first place Cubs as one of the best teams in baseball and the team with the best record in the NL. Tickets went fast for game one as the Diamondbacks managed to beat Rich Harden in a game that featured great pitching and defense. Since this is in fact a weekday series tickets are not impossible to come by, but fans who wait to long may find themseleves missing out on an experience much like the playoffs, with over 40,000 excited fans following every minute of the action. With the second half of the 2008 season just getting underway, this is a great test for both teams as this will be the last time they meet before a potential playoff matchup.

Its true!  The Chicago Blackhawks will be playing their nemesis the Detroit Red Wings at Wrigley Field on New Years Day!  The game was approved last week when Gary Bettman (NHL Commissioner) met with the Chicago Blackhawks,  Chicago Cubs,  and Mayor Daley.  The official announcement will not be made until the NHL announces their complete 2008-2009 schedule, but fans are already starting to reserve tickets.  This should be a memorable experience because of the history of these two teams.  The Blackhawks and Red Wings are one of the oldest teams in hockey and are playing in one of the oldest ballparks in baseball.  No official onsale date has been announced yet but go to our blackhawks ticket page and signup for our event alert so you are the first to know.

The Smahing Pumpkins have announced that they will be doing a large 20th Anniversary concert tour in November.  The tour will be collection of music from their earlier work and new work and will be presented as a concert that goes through the history of the band's existence.  Traditionally the Pumpkins would perform at a small venue in Chicago as an opportunity to showcase their new work to their loyal local Chicago fans.  Instead they opted to perform nearby at the venue in the Horse Shoe Casino in Hammond, IN.  The tickets for this show went on sale at Ticketmaster.com on July 11th and sold out quickly.  After the quick sell out, the band announced that their November performances will be at larger venues to allow more fans to attend.  We suggest buying Smashing Pumkins tickets for the Horse Shoe Casino show as soon as possible because there will be a limited number of tickets available.

The Who has confirmed two concerts in LA this November.  They are scheduled to play on November 8th and 9th at the Nokia Theater Los Angeles, CA.  According to their website, there are more US dates to follow.  The internet presale for the 2 LA shows begins at 10am on July 14th.  Only members of the official Who Fan Club have acces to this presale, and fans can join anytime by visiting their website.  This announcement occured after VH1 announced they were doing a tribute to the Who.  This show will be taped tonight and will air on the 17th of July.  It should be an exciting show.  The Who will perform as well as special guests Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, and Tenacious D.

Most fans are skeptical that they will actually tour because of Peter Townsend’s partial deafness and tinnitus.  Nevertheless, the tour has been officially announced and they have assembled their group for the tour.  Members include Zak Starkey, Peter’s younger brother and guitarist Simon , bassist Pino Palladino and John Bundrick on the keybooard.  And we dont want to forget original singer Roger Daltrey, who is always up for a tour. The Who tickets are going to be a hot commodity, so I would recommend buying them as soon as possible.
