The new tennis season is off to an amazing start! If you’ve been watching the Australian Open, you will have seen several exciting matches already. In the quarterfinals alone, you could see Serena Williams win in straight sets against a tough opponent. She will play against Dinara Safina in the upcoming final match. On the men’s side, we will see a rematch between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. This is a clash of the titans that will help determine who is #1 in the world this year. This is all a way of teeing up the rest of the season. You can get tennis tickets for the Davis Cup matches in March, July, September and December. Wimbledon isn’t all that far ahead either. All the best players will descend on London for that event. They all want to win, and it tends to influence the year’s rankings in a big way. Who will win? Who will come close? You’ll just have to get tickets and find out!

When you think of punk rock these days, you probably think of Fall Out Boy. Concert tickets for Fall Out Boy will give you the opportunity to see a great band perform their best songs. Some people think of them as an “emo” band, others say punk rock, still others say pop punk. The bottom line is that they are a mix of all of these different styles, an amazing fusion of sound. In 2007, they won the MTV Video Music Award for Best Group. Last year, they won three TMF awards: Best Live International, Best Rock International, and Best Alternative International. Last year, they worked hard on a live album called **** Live in Phoenix, which has received rave reviews since it came out. They cite mainly The Get Up Kids as their musical influence. This is one of the best groups onstage right now and they are touring dozens of cities in America this year. If you get the chance, you really should check out their show!

Now that we’re in the home stretch of the NCAA season, the picture of the good teams is starting to take shape. Let’s take a look at the AP rankings at the moment. Duke, as usual, has jumped up to #1 in the rankings, after trailing Wake Forest for a long time. Wake Forest just lost their first game about two weeks ago and has dropped in the rankings to #6, behind such perennial favorites as UConn and North Carolina. Let’s remember, though, that none of these teams have more than 2 losses this season. In fact, only North Carolina has two. The tournament is on its way. Selection Sunday is in a month and a half, on March 15th. Then we’ll know who plays against whom in the first round. It’s also a good time to start really guessing who might win this year. It’s an exciting year, with some classic teams like Duke and North Carolina playing well, and some dark horse teams doing well too. Who would have guessed that Pittsburgh is ranked at #3? Oklahoma is at #4 also. This has been an exceptionally interesting season and it’s just heating up! Take a look at our NCAA Basketball tickets today.

The Eugene O’Neill Theatre keeps presenting good shows. The upcoming 15 week engagement of a great show is going to be a very interesting one. The name of the show is 33 Variations, a show written by Moises Kaufman, which includes lots of music. Jane Fonda will star in this interesting and thought-provoking show, in her first appearance on Broadway in many years. The show is about musicologist Katherine Brandt who is researching Ludwig van Beethoven’s obsessive composition of the Diabelli Variations. There are parallel plots involved where Katherine goes from the time of Beethoven to the present time, finding that his concern about his health and prestige is exactly the same as her own. They are both working against time to figure out their respective riddles. Along the way, she begins to discover, understand, and worry about her own legacy in the world. It is a show that will really make you think about your own life and hopefully make some discoveries of your own. Get your 33 Variations Broadway tickets today to see this really impressive show.

They almost made it last year. The Red Sox got all the way to the ALCS as the fourth ranked team in the American League. But the Rays beat them in 7 games. So now they are working hard to get their team back in the World Series and win the championship again. Just this week, they re-signed their great closer, Jonathan Papelbon for the record sum of $6.25 million for a one-year deal. They are signing other talented players this offseason as well. John Smoltz and Kevin Youkilis are both playing for Boston this year. This beefs up the Boston Red Sox in a big way and will force the Yankees, Rays and other AL powerhouses to keep up. The Boston Red Sox are setting themselves to be a major force in major league baseball for years to come and you shouldn’t miss a minute of it. The Red Sox play in Boston, but you can also get tickets for games in other cities that they visit. You can get tickets near the field or farther away, whatever you like!
