The popular country music duo Brooks and Dunn have just announced that their nearly 20-year collaboration is about to come to an end. But don’t worry, ticket-holders! They will continue playing the gigs that they have already scheduled. They will also be performing in a final tour, called the Last Rodeo Tour during 2010. The dates for those performances will be announced in the near future. And their current tour in the US, which is slated to continue through October, will be completed in its entirety. This pair is one of country music’s brightest stars; the combination of Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn was formed in 1991 and their first 4 singles all hit #1 on the charts. And if that weren’t enough, they also won the CMA Award for Vocal Duo of the Year for every year from 1992 until 2006. Their most recent studio album released in 2007, “Cowboy Town” hit 13 on the Billboard charts and ranked even higher on the country chart. In September, they will release a compilation album called “#1s…And Then Some”, featuring their greatest hits and probably some more surprises as well. Don’t worry about Ronnie and Kix, though; they seem to be breaking up because they both want to try something new. Meanwhile, you will still have some chances to see them in concert, either this fall or during their farewell tour next year! Make sure to check our site frequently for updates on this pair’s tour plans and to order your Brooks and Dunn concert tickets.

Taking the ice in October this year will be an especially impressive lot of players with several very exciting teams. When you want to score cheap NHL tickets, you can credit Vivid Seats with making the assist! Those tickets will give you the chance to see some of the teams that made this spring one of the most interesting NHL playoffs in years. For example, when the President’s Cup winners, the Sharks, took on the weakest team in the first round of the playoffs, the Ducks, most people expected a sweep or maybe a 5 game series. But the Ducks shocked everyone with their 6 game series win, leading to a showdown with the Red Wings. Detroit won, but it took them 7 games, several games longer than expected. In the other conference, the Hurricanes had an exciting run all the way to the conference finals, beating the Boston Bruins and the New Jersey Devils on the way. Meanwhile, the defending champion Pittsburgh Penguins and the runners-up Detroit Red Wings appear to be returning somewhat stronger than they were last week, so it will be a great challenge for any team that wants to take them down a notch. The Chicago Blackhawks have improved offensively with the addition of Marian Hossa to their team. The Sharks will be hoping to follow through better than they did last season and the Canucks want to get deeper into the playoffs than they did this year, having been knocked out in the conference semifinals round. Any of these teams has a great chance and so do many others that there’s not space to name. This could be an amazingly exciting year in the NHL, so make sure that you catch as many games as you can!

This week was a good one for the New York Giants. All you needed to read in the paper the other day was “Eli” and you knew what had happened. The Giants signed Eli Manning to a contract extension worth more than $95 million over the next 6 years. This means that we’ll continue seeing quality passing and play calling coming out the New York City’s NFC team through 2015. Though fans of other teams in the NFC East will be disappointed by this, it is great news for fans of the Giants. Eli Manning is perhaps the biggest reason why the Giants have a Super Bowl championship from 2008. He led the team to a surprise win against the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship and then kept the Giants in the game against the Patriots, who were without a loss that season. This season will be a challenging one for the Giants, though. Just to start with, their first games are against Carolina, Chicago, New York Jets, and New England. None of these teams is easy, and in fact they appear to be very challenging. Towards the end of October they will be playing against the defending NFC champion Arizona Cardinals and then they will play Carolina again around Christmas. But the Giants are a team that will make a tough game fun, because they will win most of the time. They have a team full of play-makers and have so much depth this year that they are considered possible contenders and likely to continue deep into the playoffs. So you should get your NY Giants tickets and make sure to be part of this historic season.

Have you yet seen “A Chorus Line”? It’s one of the most popular Broadway shows of recent times. It’s been around for 35 years and it’s still going strong, with a huge fan base and a lot of new people coming to see it every year. A Chorus Line tickets are available from Vivid Seats, so you can be one of those people, no matter if you’re one of those who are fans or if you’re just finding about it. This is a show that details the lives of performers on Broadway. It takes place on the stage of a Broadway theater before a production has even begun. The auditions are underway for the chorus line and there are many dancers there, ready to show their talents. Zach, the director, has cut the number of auditioning people down to 17 and is looking to narrow it all the way down to 4 men and 4 women. He asks them about their lives and how they became dancers in the first place. Perhaps this is to help him make his decision, but he ends up finding out many things about these people, who are a kind of cross-section of America. There are people who are natural performers, others who can’t sing at all, married people, single people. It’s all there. And you really begin to feel for these characters, because they are similar to people that everyone knows in their own lives. We don’t want to reveal too much about the show here, because you should see it for yourself, but you can be sure that it’s a fun and inspiring show for anyone to see!

Ray LaMontagne is coming to a venue near you. You know his “raspy” voice from the radio or CDs, there’s no question. He has such a distinctive style that you can’t miss him. He’s not a typical singer-songwriter, but he is often compared to Van Morrison, Tim Buckley, or The Band. None of these are exactly like him, but they have some similar kinds of songs. Fans will know all the songs from his most recent album, “Gossip in the Grain” which was released in October 2008. It was his most successful album, debuting at #3 on the Billboard Charts. Many people really have enjoyed his music over the years, however, even before he became really famous. His folk rock talent became obvious with his first album, “Trouble,” and the subsequent album, “Till the Sun Turns Black.” He fits in well with a long line of American singer-songwriters who play music that doesn’t fit neatly in categories, but can be defined by the poetry of the lyrics and the intricate simplicity of their melodies. Find out for yourself! Get Ray LaMontagne tickets and you will get to hear all his own compositions in person, the way he means for them to be heard. You might also get to hear the famous British alternative rock singer, Leona Naess, who frequently opens for him during his live shows. No question: you’re going to enjoy this singer!

Everyone is starting to ask the important questions: who’s in? Who’s out? You can get 2009 MLB playoff tickets to see the teams that are in starting in September and continuing through October. In many ways, this year has turned out the way many people expected it to be. The two teams that battled it out for the World Series in 2008 are having completely opposite experiences. The Philadelphia Phillies are dominating the NL East this year, currently leading by 7 games. The Mets and Marlins have not yet been able to mount a strong enough challenge to the defending champions. The Tampa Bay Rays are nearly 6 games out in the very difficult AL East. They trail in an otherwise neck-in-neck race between the Red Sox and the Yankees, who are really battling it out this year. The AL Central has a close three-way race between the Chicago White Sox, Detroit Tigers and Minnesota Twins. These three will think of each game as being of the utmost importance. In the West, the Angels are holding a good lead for the moment. In the NL Central, the Cubs and the Cardinals are tied up at the top of the division, with Milwaukee and Houston lurking in the background. If Milwaukee can mount yet another late season comeback, we might even see some exciting tie-breaking games at the very end. Finally, in the NL West, the Dodgers appear to have an insurmountable lead in the division, and almost everyone expects them to be in the playoffs and to do very well. This is the year of classic teams winning games and great players showing their abilities on a daily basis. At the end of September, we will see some of the best games of the season and we’ll be ready. You can get ready too, by getting tickets from Vivid Seats!

One of America’s most popular comedians is Jim Gaffigan. It is always a lot of fun to hear his different routines, including “Hot Pockets” and all the other bits that have to do with food. He is really funny, as you can tell when you hear his most popular album “Beyond the Pale.” On this album, he talks about the way people eat and what they eat. Then you got to see the hourlong special on TV with the same name. Afterwards, he went on the “Sexy Tour”, where he performed all the routines that people enjoy, as well as some new material. Another part of his routine is that he performs the voice of a person who is in the audience, but isn’t really enjoying the show very much. This person comments on everything that’s going on and is very sarcastic and offended by the show. With 7 albums so far, Gaffigan has been one of the more successful comedians in the country over the last decade and fans of all kinds enjoy his routines. Gaffigan is also a regular cast member on the TBS program “My Boys”. If you have found that you need a laugh here in the dog days of summer, or if you think that you want to hear this funny performer in person, then order your Jim Gaffigan tickets today!

Although his tour is over, you still have one more chance to see Eric Clapton in performance. It was just announced that he will be performing once again on October 30 at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concert in New York City. Clapton remains one of the most famous rock singer-songwriters in the world. His rock has always had a tinge of blues in it and he was listed as the 4th Greatest Guitarist by Rolling Stone. You can get Eric Clapton tickets for your chance to see him live! He’s great performing in person, and his recent tour was hailed as one of the best of the year. As good as he is performing solo, he has been branching out and collaborating with various other musicians over the last few years. He performed with the Allman Brothers Band earlier this year during a tribute concert. His last several CDs have been in collaboration with other musicians, including Steve Winwood and JJ Cale. This shows that he’s one of the most versatile musicians in the world, being able to play with so many different kinds of performers. Songs like “After Midnight”, “I Shot the Sheriff”, and “I Can’t Stand It” are what made Clapton famous, but he stays in people’s memories now by playing lots of new music and reprising some of his older songs as well. Make sure to get your tickets today and you’ll be able to see a living rock legend playing his best music live. If you’ve never seen him in concert, you’re in for a treat!

Hakuna Matata is a wonderful phrase, as they say. Another wonderful thing is discount Lion King tickets which you can get here from Vivid Seats. It's one of the best productions that we have seen on Broadway and in regional theatres. With music by Elton John and lyrics by Tom Rice, there are songs that will get your toe tapping to the rhythm, and you might even be humming some of the songs hours later on the way home! The story follows the story of Simba as he discovers who he is and becomes a leader of Lions, while making friends with other animals in the African world. It is told in a unique way, with a combination of live actors and a special kind of puppetry that is fun to watch and very interesting from a theatrical standpoint. Have you seen this show before? Are you looking to see it again? Either way, at Vivid Seats we give you the opportunity to get tickets for a great price for any of their upcoming shows. Just look at the schedule and get the tickets you want!
