Back in the 1920s, a delightful mistake gave birth to one of the most entertaining shows in history. According to folklore, an exhibition game between two local Chicago basketball teams was scheduled to take place in the Savoy Ballroom. The only problem was that the local Vaudevillian team Globes & Trotter was scheduled there as well. So with a double booking to deal with (as well as thousands of anxious spectators), a quick compromise was reached: Let the comedy troupe join in on one of the teams. Though they hadn't the skill of their teammates or opponents, the audience fell in love with their outlandish antics (including the use of a ladder to slam dunk the ball). Despite being kicked out of the game on account of 13 collective technical fouls (including use of oil slicks, confetti, and dangerously long hook shots), they were invited to play with the team again the following night...and the night after...and the night after. Soon the team was no longer the Harlem Sting but the Harlem Globetrotters, and history was made. Since their inception in 1926, the Harlem Globetrotters have entertained over 118 countries in thousands of matches, and they are still going strong. Take a look at our Harlem Globetrotters tickets and experience this incredibly entertaining show today!
As the year draws towards its end, it's natural to look both backward and forward. On one hand, you can fondly reminisce about the memories of last year, last month, or even last week. On the other hand, you can look optimistically towards the new year, with high hopes of change, fortune, or what have you. However, it's important not to lose the present...which is especially true for many plays and musicals. It wasn't the best year for the stage business and a lot is going to change during the course of the next year. New shows will be replacing the failing (or even just older) shows. Therefore, while you still have the holidays off to be with your family, this is a great opportunity to spend some quality time with your loved ones enjoying a show fit for any age. Shows like the Radio City Christmas Spectacular and A Christmas Carol are seasonal plays that would make a perfect outing for anyone. However, if you have another show in mind, take a look at our great selection of family tickets and find seats to any major stage production.

It runs through December 30th, giving you one extra week after Christmas to see the show. But that still doesn’t leave you much time to find out what the new show is like, and you don’t want to wait another full year, do you? Get your Radio City Christmas Spectacular tickets before it’s too late!
What do people think of when they think of Christmas? Yes, there are Christmas trees and cookies and caroling. But one thing that people think of immediately is Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. The play has been a mainstay of Christmas almost since the day it was first published. Who doesn’t love the story of Scrooge meeting the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future? And there’s Tiny Tim, who can’t walk but is the most generous child in the world and his father Bob Cratchit, who is also a very kind man. It is a great play for the entire family, because the message of rejuvenation and charity is one that everyone needs to hear once in awhile. Children, parents and grandparents always enjoy this show and everyone can really relate to the feelings of the characters. Don’t miss out on this essential Christmas experience! Let's face it, Elmo was born for the stage, not the camera. The charming attitude, the pleasant gait while he moves...he's not unlikeable. It just can't happen. So when producers realized that he was unhappy with his screen time on Sesame Street (as well as being abused numerous times by the cookie and sugar addled Cookie Monster), it was a natural move to put him on the stage where he can shine and just be himself. After only a few years on the stage, Elmo's burned the midnight oil and put together a slew of amazing stage productions including: When Elmo Grows Up, Elmo Makes Music, and Elmo! Ready for Action. He even handles most of the back stage work like makeup, lighting, and stage repairs. He's basically a work-a-holic. But he does it because he loves to entertain. Browse through our set of Sesame Street Live tickets and you can catch Elmo in any one of his handful of delightful shows. It's guaranteed fun for the whole family!
The Cirque du Soleil Saltimbanco Tour is coming to an arena near you. Of course you know Cirque du Soleil, right? Well, for those of you who don't know, it is a touring company that combines various forms of circus performance from around the world. They mainly use acrobatic acts, as well as live music and creative costumes. Lutzes. Salchows. Axels. No, these aren’t words in some foreign language; these are real figure skating moves. Why do I bring this up? It can only mean one thing: that Smuckers Stars on Ice is starting its 2008-9 season. For those of you who don't know, Stars on Ice is a travelling ice show with dancers and music. But unlike some other ice shows, this one has real professional skaters; most of them have competed in the Olympics and other international competition. This year's cast includes such well-known skaters as Sasha Cohen, Yuka Sato, Xue Shen and Hongbo Zhao and many more. The show started in 1986 as a grown-up ice show; in other words there would be no big Mickey Mouse characters or fairy tales. Over the years, its cast has included almost all the big names, not only in American figure skating, but also those from other nations as well. If you hurry you can get tickets to this great event. What began 4 years ago as a lark in London has become one of the biggest shows on Broadway and across the nation. Mary Poppins was made into a musical and opened at the Prince Edward Theatre in London, England in 2004. It quickly gained popularity, in the same way as the movie of the same name did, and was nominated for 9 Olivier Awards in 2005, winning 2. Since then, it has spread to Broadway in New York, appearing at the New Amsterdam Theater, where it continues playing to the day. Now, however, it’s not just playing in New York and London. Instead, it is playing at theaters all over the country. There is a national UK tour and a national US tour. So there are possibly performances right in your neck of the woods. Want to find out if this award-winning show is playing near you? Take a look at the Mary Poppins show dates we have and, while you’re at it, order some tickets too.
